As the demand for smarter, safer, and more efficient automation systems accelerates, manufacturers are seeking reliable partners who can provide not just machines, but complete solutions. At SDC, we’re proud to say: we don’t just build machines—we solve problems.
We built our new facility that was designed from the ground up to support this mission. With expanded space, advanced equipment, and integrated teams, we now have more power than ever to design, build, and deliver high-performance custom automation systems that meet our customers’ toughest challenges.
Let’s take a look and show you how it all comes together.
A Facility Built for Innovation
On 20 acres of land, SDC’s new headquarters is a modern, purpose-built space for manufacturing greatness. It includes a 15,000 square foot engineering office and a 60,000 square foot temperature-controlled plant, giving our team the room and resources needed to build automation systems that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and production for clients across various industries.
Some highlights of our in-house capabilities include:
Robotics and Vision Guidance Testing Lab
Equipped with a range of advanced technologies—from collaborative robotic arms to high-speed pick-and-place units—along with a variety of vision systems, including 2D and 3D cameras and AI-powered image processing tools.
Precision Manufacturing Tools (Wire EDM, CNC Machining, Waterjet Cutting)
To support rapid prototyping and high-tolerance component fabrication, our facility houses a full suite of Haas, Okamoto, Mitsubishi, and other precision manufacturing tools. This area allows us to create complex parts with micron-level accuracy.
3D Printing
Using industrial-grade FDM and resin-based printers, we can produce durable parts in a variety of materials and finishes. This not only accelerates development cycles but also enables faster customer feedback, design validation, and hands-on functionality checks. For our clients, it means fewer delays, greater design flexibility, and smarter solutions.
Machine Shop
With capabilities including turning, milling, grinding, threading, and custom fixturing, we can fabricate virtually any mechanical part needed for our automation systems. This end-to-end control not only ensures exceptional quality and repeatability but also allows for quick adjustments to support evolving project requirements. It’s another way we minimize outsourcing and reducing delays.
Welding, Fabrication, and Paint Facilities
Welding stations are outfitted with state-of-the-art Lincoln Electric equipment, enabling precision welding across a wide range of metals and thicknesses. Whether we’re fabricating structural machine frames or delicate custom brackets, our in-house team ensures consistency and high-quality workmanship.
Our custom paint booth is a fully enclosed and climate-controlled environment engineered for high-efficiency finishing. With internal dimensions of 26′ 5″ deep, 14′ 4″ wide, and 9′ high, it’s equipped with a 1.375 million BTU gas heater that delivers consistent heat up to 175°F. This allows us to rapidly cure industrial-grade coatings, providing a durable, uniform finish. It’s the final step in ensuring that every machine not only meets performance standards but also exceeds expectations in finish and aesthetics.
Compressed Air Systems
Featuring advanced filtration and drying units, our system delivers clean, dry air throughout the building—essential for maintaining the integrity of pneumatic tools, actuators, and sensitive automation components.
Electrical Panel Build and Machine Assembly Zones
In the panel build area, our experienced electricians assemble and wire custom control panels to exacting standards, ensuring safe, clean, and organized installations. Every panel is built in-house, fully tested, and documented to ensure seamless integration with the systems we design.
Industrial Overhead Cranes
These cranes provide unparalleled flexibility and precision, allowing our team to safely move and position heavy components—such as large machine frames, palettes, and intricate assemblies—throughout the production process.
Run-Off and Testing Sites
From verifying precision movements to fine-tuning automation sequences, every aspect of the system is tested to meet performance standards. Our engineers work closely with clients during this phase, ensuring the machine performs as expected under production-like conditions.
Every part of the facility was designed with speed, collaboration, and quality control in mind—so we can solve problems faster and deliver better machines every time.

Built In-House. Built to Last.
By keeping our mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and critical manufacturing in-house, we maintain total control over quality, speed, and reliability.
- Our machine builders align each part by hand to match project specs
- Our electricians wire and test every connection with precision
- Our machinists and fabricators craft custom parts with tight tolerances
- Our inspectors ensure every component meets performance and safety standards
We also maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, allowing us to scale production while reserving our in-house resources for the most complex and time-sensitive parts.
Collaboration at Every Stage
What sets SDC apart isn’t just our equipment or our facility—it’s our team. Our mechanical and electrical engineers collaborate daily with our builders, machinists, and project managers to refine every detail and keep projects moving forward.
This collaborative approach reduces friction, speeds up timelines, and ensures the final product performs exactly as intended in the real world.
Built to Build the Future
Whether you’re looking to automate an intricate assembly process, improve material handling, or implement advanced inspection technology, SDC has the tools, team, and technology to make it happen.
Our new facility isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a commitment to providing even better automation solutions, faster, and more reliably than ever before.
